I am so happy you’re here!

I am the founder and owner of Slumber and Shine and mom of two wonderful kids. We call Prince Edward County, Ontario home after making the move from Toronto in 2020. Being part of such a tight knit community of mamas in this smalltown has been one of the best gifts to come out of our move. With so much of my time spent with fellow moms, my belief about the importance of restorative sleep for little ones and their parents has been completely validated.

I had my own experience with a Baby Sleep Consultant when my youngest was 6 months old. The lead up to finding this support was not pretty. I spent months feeling like a zombie – unable to care for my kids, my relationships, and myself in the way that I really wanted to. That relentless exhaustion and desperation to make things better began to take a toll on my mental health and so I sought help. Enter, Baby Sleep Consultant!

Within three days of sleep training, my baby started sleeping through the night. I can truly say that the sun shone brighter those first few mornings. The shift had me seeing colour again in my days – a feeling of gratitude, and most importantly a strong sense of self came back to me so that I could be the mom, partner, and individual that I wanted to be again.

This is how Slumber and Shine was born. Through my own incredible results with sleep training, I felt inspired to share effective methods with other families so that they too can feel that weight lifted . I am certified through Baby’s Best Sleep and closely mentored by renowned Baby Sleep Consultant Amanda Jewson.

My Approach

One of my core beliefs around sleep training and parenthood in general, is that there is no one-size-fits-all solution. This is the pillar of my approach as a Pediatric Sleep Consultant. There are certainly scientifically proven learnings about sleep for humans of all ages, but these teachings are a guide to creating something tailored to your family and child’s needs. We’ll work together and listen to your baby to give them the gift of restorative sleep.

My methodologies are evidence-based and my techniques are respectful. This means that sleep training doesn’t have to involve endless hours of crying or leave you feeling emotionally drained. Instead, you can experience many moments of connection to your child throughout the process and sleep train in a way that feels aligned with who you are as a parent.

Another core contributor to my approach comes from the experience of raising my daughter, who has a neurodivergent diagnosis. This means that the mainstream messaging around parenting strategies and solutions often doesn’t fit my child’s needs. Through this journey, I have developed a deep sense of compassion, empathy, and understanding of diversity – all of which I bring to my work. I consider it a privilege to work with other families navigating the nuances and differences that a diagnosis such as autism brings to the journey around sleep.

With this said, inclusivity is a top priority at Slumber and Shine. I am dedicated to creating a safe, welcoming space for families of all races, abilities, religious backgrounds, LGBTQ identities, and diverse structures.

The purpose of this complimentary 15 minute call is to see if Slumber and Shine’s sleep training approach is the right fit for your family. I will ask you questions about your child’s current sleep habits and answer any questions you have about sleep training. This is a no-obligation conversation, just an opportunity for us to connect and learn more.
